Book week was a great success. The theme this year was “Animals”. All classes and residential flats chose books with a link to animals and completed Literacy work, Art work and a variety of fun activities linked to their chosen book.
Andrea White from ‘A Bundle of Books’ in Herne Bay came in to deliver story sessions and a fun assembly on Strange Animal facts.
On Thursday we had music workshops with Andrew Tye, who entertained us with a variety of animal songs, these were enjoyed by all. Students also had their faces painted as they got into character, everywhere you looked you could spot weird and wonderful creatures!
On Friday we had a visit from the Zoo Lab. Students really enjoyed handling the animals, ranging from a hissing cockroach to a rat and a Tarantula spider.
We rounded off the week by having a whole school assembly. Each class presented work they had completed and their own version of the book they had worked on, along with a story sack to accompany the book.
A fun packed week was had by all.
