PE and Sports Premium Allocation 2019-20

Primary PE and Sports Premium Allocation 2019-20

Allocations for the academic year 2019 to 2020 are calculated using the number of pupils in years 1 to 6, as recorded in the January 2019 census, as follows:

  • schools with 17 or more pupils receive £16,000 plus £10 per pupil
  • schools with 16 or fewer pupils receive £1,000 per pupil

Where a school’s pupils are not recorded by year group, pupils aged 5 to 10 are deemed eligible.

Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of physical education (PE), physical activity and sport offered.

This means that we should use the premium to:

Develop or add to the PE, physical activity and sport activities that the school already offers

Build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years
